At OrthoPrime Physical Therapy, we take a specialized approach to rehabilitation with Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT). This advanced method focuses on hands-on, personalized care tailored to your specific needs. Every therapist at OrthoPrime is OMPT-certified, having completed an intensive two-year residency in manual therapy techniques and advanced diagnostic skills.

OMPT is highly effective for treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions and injuries. The process begins with a comprehensive assessment to identify the root cause of your pain or dysfunction. Based on this assessment, we create a customized treatment plan that may include:

  • Functional Massage
  • Joint Mobilization
  • Stretching Techniques

These hands-on treatments are designed to address the underlying musculoskeletal issues, promoting faster healing, improved mobility, and sustainable recovery.

By combining precise diagnosis with advanced manual therapy techniques, we ensure each patient receives the most effective and individualized care for their condition, helping them achieve optimal outcomes.

OMPT Certification: A Step Beyond Traditional Physical Therapy

The Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) Certification is a prestigious postgraduate credential awarded by Oakland University. This certification is designed for physical therapists who wish to deepen their knowledge and expertise in manual therapy techniques.

Achieving OMPT certification requires an additional two years of specialized study beyond the standard physical therapy degrees (PT, MPT, or DPT). During this period, therapists complete 200+ hours of extensive clinical training focused on advanced manual therapy methods and diagnostic skills.

To become OMPT certified, individuals must successfully pass a series of rigorous exams and clinical assessments, demonstrating their proficiency in both the theory and practical application of Orthopedic Manual Therapy.

This advanced certification equips therapists with the specialized skills necessary to provide the highest level of care for patients dealing with complex orthopedic conditions.
